Amoebiasis is an intestinal illness transmitted when someone eats or drinks something that's contaminated with a microscopic parasite. i.e. Entamoeba Histolytica
- Abdominal cramps.
- Diarrhea: Passage of 3 to 8 semi formed stools per day, or passage of soft stools with mucus and occasional blood.
- Excessive gas.
- Rectal pain while having a bowel movement (tenesmus)
- Unintentional weight loss.
The time interval between the parasite’s entry into the body and the appearance of the first symptoms ranges from a few days to a few weeks.
